Priscilla Shirer’s journey is one of faith, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to God’s Word. From an early age, she was immersed in ministry. Though surrounded by biblical teaching, Priscilla's personal relationship with Christ deepened over time as she sought to understand and apply Scripture for herself.

As a young woman, Priscilla pursued higher education at Dallas Theological Seminary, earning a master's degree in biblical studies. Her early years in ministry were spent teaching a small group of college students at Southern Methodist University and then speaking at small church gatherings, sharing insights from her personal walk with God and the study of His Word. Over time, her voice resonated with thousands, and what began as small gatherings grew into a full-fledged calling.

Nearly 25 years ago, Jerry and Priscilla founded Going Beyond Ministries. The heart of their ministry has always been to see believers grow in their faith through deep, personal engagement with Scripture. To date, the reach of their ministry has extended beyond speaking—into books, Bible studies, and even films. Despite Priscilla’s growing platform, she has remained committed to her first priorities: her faith, her family, and the message God has placed on her heart.

The Life and Experiences of Priscilla Shirer

Life as a wife and mother has deeply shaped Priscilla’s ministry. She and Jerry have spent the past 25 years navigating the joys and challenges of marriage while raising their three sons—Jackson, Jerry Jr., and Jude. The balancing act of family life and ministry has given Priscilla a unique perspective on faith in the everyday moments, from teaching God’s Word on stage to sharing biblical truths around the dinner table.

Her journey has not been without struggles. Like many, she has faced seasons of uncertainty, exhaustion, and the need to fully rely on God’s provision. These experiences have only deepened her passion for encouraging others to trust God through life’s trials. Her teachings reflect a faith that has been tested and refined, making her messages all the more powerful.

Over the years, Priscilla has stepped into many roles—teacher, author, speaker, and even actress. She has been privileged to portray characters in faith-based films like WAR ROOM (2015), I CAN ONLY IMAGINE (2017), OVERCOMER (2019), and most recently playing Cynthia in THE FORGE (2024), using storytelling as another avenue to share God’s truth. Through each of these unique mediums, Priscilla has remained committed to her over-arching calling: to equip believers with the tools they need to know and love the Lord more deeply.

Rather than simply writing books, Priscilla sees her work as an extension of her ministry—a way to meet people where they are and invite them into deeper study. Her studies on biblical figures like Jonah, Gideon, and Elijah, as well as her teachings on discerning God’s voice and spiritual warfare, have reached countless women seeking a closer relationship with God. Among her books, Fervent and The Resolution for Women have left a lasting impact, calling readers to live with intentionality and boldness in their faith.

Her most recent work, I Surrender All, is a heartfelt call to discipleship, born out of her own journey of learning to yield every aspect of life to God. Priscilla’s writing, much like her speaking, is marked by authenticity, passion, and a deep reverence for Scripture.
