Speaker Bios

Dr. Alicia Wong
Alicia Wong serves as the Women's Ministry Specialist at Lifeway. She has also served as a missionary with IMB and NAMB and has been teaching in seminaries, local churches, and on the mission field regarding topics related to Ministry to Women, Counseling, and Missions for over 25 years. She also serves as the Associate Professor of Women’s Ministry at Gateway Seminary in Ontario, CA. She holds an M.A. in Intercultural Studies and Christian Counseling, M.Div. and a Doctorate in Education. Her passion is to see women be firmly rooted in biblical truth, built up in Christ, and established in their faith in order that they may share the good news with others to the ends of the earth.

Kaye Hurta
Kaye and her husband, Chris, have been serving in ministry for over 35 years. Kaye holds a BS in Psychology from Barry University, an MA in Counseling from Liberty University, is a Certified Professional Coach and a Certified Mental Health Coach. She is a listener, writer, and contributing author to Women Reaching Women In Crisis: Ministry Handbook and the Lifeway Women’s Bible. Kaye provides leadership to women's groups in her church, leads small groups, and writes devotional and retreat materials. She is also an adjunct professor of Pastoral Counseling through Bayside College. Her passion is to be a safe witness to women’s stories and to help them understand their irrevocable inheritance of worth, belonging, and purpose through discipleship and mentoring. Kaye and Chris live on Florida’s West Coast and have two adult daughters (through the miracle of adoption) and one delightful son-in-love.

Britt Nelson
Britt serves as the High School Director at First Baptist Orlando. She was called into full time ministry in high school, and has pursued that call for the past 15 years in churches across the country. Through teaching and leading, she is passionate about students coming to know Christ as their Savior. She is uniquely passionate about making every space safe through hospitality, ministry strategy, contextualizing the gospel to inner city students, and seeing students step up and lead in important roles in the church. She is laughing through life with her husband Mike, and enjoys antiquing, 2000’s cop shows, reading fiction, and anything caffeinated.

Angie Elkins
Angie grew up in a Christian family in the Memphis, TN area. Early in life she developed a love for music and a love for her local church. After graduating from Union University, she attended Southwestern Seminary to pursue a Masters in Music. While at Southwestern, she met and married her husband Robert- they married in 1996, and have 3 children. Jack, Audrey and Foster. In the last 25 years, Angie has been leading worship all over the country, writing music for the local church , and in 2017 she created chatologie with Angie Elkins, a podcast that moves people closer to God and each other by starting conversations that matter. Angie is the Manager of the Lifeway Podcast Network, where she works with amazing shows like Marked and The Glass House with Ben and Lynley Mandrell. Angie’s favorite things are taking morning walks in her neighborhood, Walt Disney World and trips with her girlfriends. Angie and her husband Robert have been married for 26 years they live in Orlando, FL where her husband serves as the Worship Pastor of First Baptist Church of Orlando.
